This position is in the Senior Executive Service (SES), a group of senior government leaders who possess a diverse portfolio of experience and the strong skills required to lead across organizations.  As an SES member you will influence the direction of innovation and transformation of the federal government and lead the next generation of public servants.  

This position is located in the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Office of the Director, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, Georgia.  The incumbent serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) and oversees all responsibilities related to the Chief Financial Officer's Act, with specific emphasis on CDC/ATSDR's financial management operations and systems including policy and internal controls. 

The CDC, an operating division of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is the nation’s premiere health promotion, prevention, and preparedness agency and a global leader in public health.  It remains at the forefront of public health efforts to prevent and control infectious and chronic diseases, injuries, workplace hazards, disabilities, and environmental health threats.  CDC is globally recognized for conducting research and investigations and for its action-oriented approach.
