HECSA is located in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, approximately 15 miles south of the Nation's Capitol, in Alexandria, Virginia. The Washington, D.C., metropolitan area is extremely rich in diverse cultural activity, American history -- Civil War history in particular, excellent shopping and eating establishments, white water kayaking on the Potomac River (where the U.S. Olympic Team trains), hiking, and some of the best boating in the world, on Chesapeake Bay.
