For over 60 years, the National Science Foundation (NSF) has remained the premier Federal agency supporting basic research at the frontiers of discovery across all fields, as well as science and engineering education at all levels.

The National Science Foundation’s Division of Integrative Organismal Systems (IOS) is seeking qualified candidates for a permanent Program Director in its Plant Genome Research Program (PGRP). The Plant Genome Research Program supports research on the genomics of economically important crop plants and plant processes of potential economic value.  The research supported through this program ranges from development of genomic resources, tools, and technologies to enable research into economically important crops, to hypothesis-driven research at single investigator to multi-investigator, multi-institution scales.  The PGRP also provides support for the National Plant Genome Initiative Postdoctoral Fellowships and the joint NSF-Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Basic Research to Enable Agricultural Development (BREAD) Program.
