WHO MAY BE CONSIDERED:

Open to all current U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employees serving under career or career-conditional appointments.

The incumbent serves as the Project Leader for all responsibilities assigned to the Colorado River Fishery Project (CRFP) in Grand Junction, CO. This includes providing technical consultation along with budgetary development for the CRFP in Vernal, UT, and supervising the Grand Valley Unit of the Ouray National Fish Hatchery in Grand Junction, CO. The broad mission of the CRFP is the identification and implementation of means to recover four endangered fishes native to the upper Colorado River basin. These fishes, listed as endangered under the 1973 Endangered Species Act are Colorado pike minnow (Ptychocheilus lucius), humpback chub (Gila cypha), bonytail (Gila elegans) and razorback sucker (Xyrauchen texanus).
