About the Position: Serve as the Energy Program Manager at an Army installation. Apply a broad knowledge of professional engineering. Exercise technical oversight and provide professional assistance to the Public Works Director, Garrison Commander, and energy users throughout the installation on activities and initiatives pertaining to energy use, creation, and reduction of energy consumption throughout the installation.
Organization Mission: Public Works mission is to provide services for Fort Polk and JRTC. We provide quality housing, training, maintenance, and community facilities and services in support of the U. S. Army mission and training, as measured by the positive response of commanders, soldiers, and their families.

The surrounding community of Fort Polk is comprised of the towns of Leesville, DeRidder, New Llano and Anacoco. The nearest cities are Alexandria (45 miles northeast) and Lake Charles (55 miles south). The area is considered rural with Kisatchie National Forest, which offers hunting and recreational activities located nearby. Also, located nearby are Toledo Bend Lake, Vernon Lake and Anacoco Lake for those interested in fishing, boating, swimming etc.
