The position holder serves as the Antenna Systems Branch Head for the AIR 4.5.5 Antenna Systems Division of the Avionics Department (4.5) of the Naval Aviation Systems Command at the Patuxent River site. As Branch Head, the position holder assists the Radar and Antenna Systems Division Director in providing resources for the execution of systems, subsystems, component and device level design, development, integration and evaluation of products into air vehicles through Integrated Product Teams, Externally Directed Teams and Enterprise Teams. The division supports transition of R&D technology from the lab into aircraft for both R&D testing, prototype through production and fleet integration. The division is responsible for establishing and executing policy and procedures governing radar and antenna systems engineering tasks for manned and unmanned air vehicles. These responsibilities include electrical and mechanical system design, avionics systems integration, engineering data management, prototype through production (levels 1, 2 & 3) data package development, certification, ILS management, ECP development support, and systems analysis support for Navy fleet aircraft. The Division also provides radar and antenna systems engineering resources to support the Avionics Department.
