This position is in the National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service, Assistant Administrator's Office in Silver Spring, MD.

This position will be filled under the Department of Commerce Alternative Personnel System (CAPS). This system replaced the Federal GS pay plan and structure. Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, play plan and pay band. The ZS-4 is equivalent to the GS-7/8 grades.

* A one year probationary period may be required.

* Federal employees must meet Time-in-Grade (TIG) requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

* Payment of relocation expenses is not authorized.
