Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission.  They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations.  The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Area:
The St. Louis District Office is located downtown within walking distance of Busch Stadium, home of the Cardinals baseball team, and Scottrade Center , home of the Blues Hockey team. Located in and around the downtown area are the Edward Jones Dome, home of the Rams football team; the World Famous Gateway Arch; St. Louis Zoo and many other attractions. Lambert International Airport has direct flights to most major cities. Train travel is offered by Amtrak. Our employees live in various locations in Missouri and Illinois. Commuting times vary from a few minutes to generally no more than 45 minutes one way. Local transportation is provided by bus and light rail with transportation subsidies available for mass transit users. Parking fees range from $2-$6 per day. There is a 1% city earnings tax charged to all who live or work in the St. Louis City limits.
