This is a Senior Service Executive position in the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Research and Development (ORD), National Health and Environmental Effects Research Laboratory (NHEERL) located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

The NHEERL formulates and implements a comprehensive research program to investigate the effects of environmental pollutants and other anthropogenic stressors on human health and the ecosystems in which we live.  NHEERL, is the focal point for toxicological, clinical, epidemiological, ecological, and biogeographic research within the Agency.  NHEERL scientists create and apply biological assays and toxicologic assessment methods, predictive and advanced extrapolation methods to improve the scientific underpinnings of the Agency's risk assessments and regulatory/policy decisions.

This position serves as the Deputy Director for Management (DDM).  As key advisor to the Laboratory Director, the DDM shares fully in the leadership and management of research activities to achieve assigned objectives, including all necessary administrative and support activities.  The DDM participates in developing policies, plans, and priorities for the Laboratory's goals within ORD's overall strategic plan.
