The Chief, SPS, is a keyposition which requires tact, diplomacy, and independent decision making abilities to carry out scope of assigned responsibilities. Additionally, the Chief must maintain harmonious relationships between administrative and clinical managers and staff, between personnel in different VA Healthcare Systems, and with local vendors and civilian medical facilities.
