This Social Worker serves as the Women Veterans Program Manager (WVPM) for Medical Center and is responsible for administering, planning, monitoring, and evaluating the Women Veterans Health Program (WVHP). This professional coordinates a variety of activities, including outreach; multidisciplinary activities; psychosocial assessments; treatment and discharge planning; consultation and/or education to medical center staff and community service providers; the collection and maintenance of statistical data; program planning, evaluation and modification; and the supervision of staff as assigned.
Work is typically performed in a clinical setting, but may be performed in a setting away from the medical center where the environment cannot be controlled such as at conferences/meetings, in homes, and at other community agencies. The incumbent must be flexible since to meet program requirements it may be necessary to work irregular tours of duty and to travel, including overnight details, as needed.
