This position is located in the Office of Standards, Regulations, and Variances (OSRV), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) in Arlington, VA. The Office is comprised of professional Regulatory Specialists and Economists who provide expertise in the development and technical writing of standards and regulations, and policy and procedural direction to MSHA officials in order to ensure consistency and continuity in the production of standards and regulations for publication; and who process applications for variances to standards. The Office of Standards is also responsible for coordinating Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, review of proposed legislation, and compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.
