JOB SUMMARY:

Minimum/Required Qualifications:
<br>DVM/VMD or equivalent degree, preferably from a college or school accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association, and must be either board-certified or board-eligible by the ACVS by the time of employment.
<br>
<br>This position requires experience in small animal surgery, and classroom/clinical teaching experience in small animal surgery.
<br>
<br>For Clinical Track appointments, applicants must have experience/interest primarily in clinical and teaching.
<br>
<br>For Assistant Professor tenure track appointments, the applicants will be expected to have established a research program in the academic discipline/unit.
<br>
<br>For Associate Professor tenure track appointments, candidates must also show evidence of demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, advising, service, and other assigned duties.
<br>
<br>Achievement in scholarship and creative activity that establishes the individual as a significant contributor to the field or profession, with potential for distinction.
<br>
<br>Position Duties:
<br>The percentages of time listed below reflect the duties if appointment is made as Tenure Track. If appointment is made as Clinical, the following percentages of time will be revised to allow for the Clinical focus.
<br>
<br>50% - Participation in the Small Animal Surgery clinical service, practical instruction of surgery to senior veterinary students and equivalents, and clinical mentorship of interns, residents, and clinical fellows.
<br>
<br>15% Didactic and laboratory instruction of veterinary students, interns, residents, and clinical fellows in surgery.
<br>
<br>30% - Development of an independent and/or collaborative research program including authorship of grants and relevant publications.
<br>
<br>5% - Participation on Departmental, College, and University committees.
