About the Agency

The Bureau of the Fiscal Service promotes the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the U.S. government through exceptional accounting, borrowing, collections, payments, and shared services. We are looking for highly qualified individuals to meet the challenges of expanding electronic services and processes to our customers and the American public. The Accountant will work in the Division/Branch as assigned with primary responsibilities including assisting with formulating debt,  administrative, and governmentwide accounting policies and standards;  assisting in establishing accounting and reporting requirements and systems and accounting procedures and controls;  performing accounts reconcilement and reporting; and processing, certifying, recording, and reporting administrative receipts and expenditures accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with governing regulations. The positions to be filled may be in either Hyattsville, MD, or Parkersburg, WV.
