The Position
Responsible for overseeing the invoice flow through the various departments within the company to make certain invoices are properly routed, approved, and coded for payment so checks can be processed on a timely basis. Review and approve vendors listing for completeness and accuracy to minimize inaccurate payments. Typically requires at least ten years of oil and gas accounts payable experience.
Experience & Qualifications Required
* Oracle experience is required
* Possess experience in the oil and gas exploration/development process
* Minimum of ten years Accounts Payable experience
* Superior interpersonal skills to handle various vendor groups
* Experience in leading an accounts payable staff, including assisting in recruitment & hiring new personnel as necessary
* Complete understanding of the Accounts Payable process
* Demonstrated leadership capabilities
* Good problem-solving skills, analysis, judgment, and decision-making
Accountabilities:
?? Oversee a team of approximately eight people at the Houston location
?? Responsible for overseeing invoice flow including logging and batching for BHP Billiton''s North American Shale Division
?? Primarily responsible for sharing in overseeing approximately 25,000 invoices being processed for payment each month
?? Review new vendors being added to the Approved Vendor List daily for their respective areas
?? Assist internal and external auditors in the annual and quarterly audit process of the North American Shale Division''s accounts payable process
?? Provide statistics regularly to management (invoice inflow, processing outflow, projections, etc)
