Air University invites applications for the position of Director, Public Affairs Center of Excellence (PACE). The Center is responsible to Headquarters Air Force and to the Commander, Spaatz Center for Officer Education, for overseeing the development of communication and engagement curriculum across all officer professional military education. The Director administers a 4-person center of scholars and practitioners responsible for preparing Airmen at all levels to successfully communicate with the public via mass media. It is the only center of its kind within the Department of Defense. PACE also provides Public Affairs education to the enlisted force through the Barnes Center for Enlisted Education, as well as professional continuing education courses and support to Air Force wargames at the LeMay Center for Doctrine Development and Education and the Eaker Center for Professional Development. The PACE Director will also be required to be a dual-appointed faculty member at either Air War College or Air Command and Staff College. The Air University oversees professional military education and professional continuing education for all USAF Airmen, educating substantial numbers of personnel from US sister services and allied nations as well. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and awards degrees up to and including terminal degrees in security-related disciplines.
