The Central Alabama Veteran Health Care System (CAVHCS) is a consolidated health care system that  includes VA Medical Centers in Montgomery and Tuskegee Alabama, as well as Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC)  in Dothan and Ft. Rucker Alabama and Columbus Georgia.  The primary duty station for this position is at the Montgomery Campus.  The incumbent will be required to work on site at the other locations as required.

SALARY RANGE:  $60,274 per annum - $129,517 per annum.  Your salary and grade will be determined by the Optometrist Professional Standards Board (PSB) and Compensation Pay Panel.  The PSB and Compensation Pay Panel is a peer review process.  The PSB will review your individual qualifications, education, professional training/internship(s) and professional experience to determine the most appropriate salary and grade based on your individual accomplishment.

Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.
