About the Position:

This position is with the United States Army Corps Engineers, Mobile District, Jones Bluff Power Project, located 25 miles from Selma, Al and 30 miles from Prattville, Al.  Positioned high on the banks of the Alabama River, Selma is a great city to enjoy the simple joys of nature. Selma also known as the Butterfly Capital of Alabama is the county seat of Dallas County, Alabama. Dallas County and the five counties that adjoin it are known throughout the United States as the "Whitetail Deer Capital of the Nation".The city features a number of recreational activities for all including fishing, boating and camping. Selma boasts the state's largest contiguous historic district, with over 1,250 structures.  Prattville is known as "The Preferred Community" and has very good schools, medical facilities  and  shopping.  And if you looking to for a little spark of big city life Montgomery the state capital is only a 50 minutes away from the duty station with cultural, sporting, educational and social events. So rural, suburban and city environments are here to be selected according to your taste and needs.

Jones Bluff Power Project is organizationally under the Operations Project Management Office located in Tuscaloosa, AL.  The facility is part of the Millers Ferry/Jones Bluff Power Projects with 82,000 kilowatts of available hydropower capacity from four generators.  Together with the hydropower facility at Millers Ferry, 30 employees work together to provide clean reliable power to the rural customers of the southeast. The workforce is essentially divided equally between the two facilities with powerplant operators, electricians, mechanics, maintenance technicians, administrative staff and managers.  Through the support of this team, the facilities are consistently at the top of the list for most reliable hydropower plants in the southeast.
