JOB SUMMARY:

The BLM manages more land – 245 million acres – than any other Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The Bureau, with a budget of about $1 billion, also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estates throughout the nation. The BLM's multiple-use mission is to sustain the health and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

Intermittent work schedule is service performed without a regularly scheduled tour of duty. Intermittent employees are ineligible to participate in most Federal employee benefit programs.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

• Occasional Travel
• Travel in government aircraft; including small, fixed wing and helicopters over long distances in sometimes turbulent flying conditions to remote locations is required as a part of the duties of this position. If you have a private life insurance policy, travel in a government aircraft may affect the benefits payable in the event of an accident.
