About the Agency
The Pathways Internship program offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to blend academic studies and Federal work experience into a planned progressive educational program. The program provides formal periods of work experience while attending school.
Eligibility:
Current students in an accredited high school or home school program that is allowed to operate in a State, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade schools; advanced degree programs; or post-secondary home-school curriculum. To be eligible for the Pathways Intern program you must be accepted for enrollment or be enrolled and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in a qualifying educational institution on at least a half-time basis. Individuals must meet the eligibility requirements throughout the duration of the Internship appointment.
Upon completion of the Pathways Internship Program, there is a possibility that you may be eligible for conversion to a permanent or TERM appointment within 120 days after satisfactory completion of your educational program and completion of your career related work experience. The conversion is not automatic or guaranteed.
Your academic career goals or field of study should relate to the position you are applying for.
WHO MAY BE CONSIDERED: Students eligible for the Pathways Internship Program residing or attending school within the local commuting area of Southeast Alaska and Veteran's Preference eligible candidates with student status. (Screen-out)
Your appointment may be extended beyond one year.
