Approximate population is 300,000. It is the home to the University of Alaska Anchorage as well as smaller community colleges. Average summer daylight time is 18 hours with the temperatures usually in the 60s or 70s, winter daylight time is 6 to 8 hours with temperatures in the 20s to -10.
