This
position is located at Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve Maintenance
Facility in Glennallen, Alaska.
Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve is located in the SE
portion of South Central Alaska.
Glennallen is a small rural communities, with low population, and basic
amenities as well as clinic, chiropractor, and a dental office. Elementary and
high schools and a Jr. College are located within the community. Recreational opportunities exist all times
of the year. Summers are relatively cool but hot days are
not uncommon in July. Winters are cold, with temperatures frequently dropping to 40 below zero.
Average snow cover in winter is two feet. In the spring, clear skies,
increasingly longer days and warming temperatures break winter's hold on the
land with dramatic quickness. Throughout the year, the weather can be
unseasonable at times. Additional

In rare cases this appointment may be extended beyond the not to exceed date. When selected, employees may be noncompetitively hired for subsequent summer seasons in the same position at the same location. Government housing may be available.
