Animal Control Officer

JOB SUMMARY:
Currently seeking qualified applicants for an Animal Control Officer position to protect residents from stray or vicious animals and related diseases; operate the animal control center; capture, impound, and when necessary, prepares specimen for rabies testing, dispose of animals; maintain records and prepare and submit reports.
Minimum qualifications include high school graduation or GED and one year of animal control experience, kennel experience preferred. Must be over 18 years of age, willing to work weekends, some holidays and respond to emergency calls on a 24-hour basis. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. and obtain Basic Animal Control Certification by Texas Department of Health within 1 year of hire date; must have appropriate Texas driver's license and proof of acceptable driving record.
