Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) has a strong academic affiliation with the University Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and services a major training sight for psychiatric residents, psychology, social work, nursing. The UAMS department of psychiatry has eight PGY-1 residents per year. There psychiatric fellowship program (geriatric, psychosocial rehab, substance dependence) as well as ten psychology intern and fellow positions and PTSD post-doctoral fellowship.

The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) is seeking an accomplished leader to be the Associate Chief of Staff for Behavioral Health Service. The Associate Chief of Staff will lead a dynamic service line treating Veterans in Arkansas. Behavioral Health is an integrated care line with a large number of employees, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and a variety of ancillary therapists. The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) has a continuum of outpatient mental health services including general mental health clinics, specialty PTSD treatment, addictions treatment, tele-mental health services, primary care mental health, programs for Veterans with serious mental illness, and vocational rehabilitation services. The Associate Chief Of Staff for is administratively and clinically responsible for all Behavioral Health staff and programs at all Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System sites.
