The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) is recruiting for a qualified full-time physician who is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology (preferred) to serve as the Chief, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service.  The position is primarily administrative, but will also involve some direct patient care duties as well within the clinical expertise of the candidate.  Therefore, the applicant must be board-certified and qualify for an academic appointment at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Physician will hold a full-time VA appointment.  The physician must also maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

CAVHS is a Level 1B complexity facility, with two main campuses [Little Rock and North Little Rock], complex, comprehensive Medical/Surgical inpatient service, in-house long term care community living center, eight community-based outpatient clinics, and numerous outpatient programs.  CAVHS trains over 1600 healthcare professional each year including medical students, medical residents, fellows, nurses and numerous additional allied health professions. CAVHS serves over 65,000 veterans. 

 

NOTE: Applicant's education and length of practice (experience) will be considered by a Professional Standards Board and Compensation Panel in determining the salary of the applicant selected.
