The GRECC at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) in Little Rock, Arkansas is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Associate Director of GRECC for Research.  This position is responsible for leading and providing strategic direction for GRECC research relevant to nutrition, exercise, and rehabilitation in older adults.  Other responsibilities include: mentoring junior investigators; serving on leadership groups; and developing and strengthening research collaborations.  Candidates have a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).  The applicant should be qualified for appointment at the Associate to Professor Level in the Clinical Investigator track at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).  The ideal candidate will have a research focus in the area of aging.  The position represents a tremedous opportunity to lead the research program of the GRECC.  The successful candidate is encouraged to take an active leadership role in local, VISN, and national projects in any field related to geriatrics within the VA.
