This position is in the Senior Executive Service (SES), a small elite group of top government leaders.  SES members possess a diverse portfolio of experiences including strong skills to lead across organizations.  As a Senior Executive, you will influence the direction of innovation and transformation of the federal government and lead the next generation of public servants. 

As the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Chemical and Biological Defense, the incumbent will lead a team of technical experts in the oversight of the Joint Chemical and Biological Defense Program for chemical and biological materiel, countermeasures and systems, acquisition policy, and procurement.

• Incumbent may be called upon to travel frequently throughout the continental U.S and overseas.
