This position is based in Shanghai, China
* To provide veterinary health care for laboratory animals, give advice regarding the care and maintenance of laboratory animals, and provide training for technicians. To monitor animal health and welfare in compliance with the Animal Welfare Act and help maintain facilities for AAALAC compliance.
* To provide oversight of multiple programs involving laboratory animal care and use and compliance with regulatory groups and agencies.
* Provide laboratory animal medical care by examination, treatment and advice to ensure adequate and humane veterinary support.
* Ensure that company policies and practices regarding animal care and welfare are in compliance with relevant regulations.
* Report all animal care concerns and become involved in the resolution and appropriate corrective action, when necessary.
* Assist in training of staff including
* Serve on the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
* Insure health status of lab animals by examination prior to placement on test, and approval of appropriate quality animal suppliers and transportation methods.
* Performs supervisory duties including full range of recruitment activities, full range of performance evaluation activities, schedules work, prepares training plans, and executes Affirmative Action goals in department.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
* DVM degree including 2 years post doctoral residency in lab animal medicine, plus at least 10 years in lab animal vet position at board certified level.
* Board Certification in American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine
* Veterinary license and USDA accreditation
* Knowledge of small and large lab animals Education/Qualifications * DVM degree including 2 years post doctoral residency in lab animal medicine, plus at least 10 years in lab animal vet position at board certified level.
