JOB SUMMARY:
At a journeyman-s level under general supervision, will perform a full range of electrical, control wiring, mechanical equipment installations and preventative and corrective maintenance. Performs duties to provide a full range of equipment repairs and retrofits. May perform repairs to building architectural infrastructure. Utilizes mechanical and electronic testing equipment and/or systems to isolate problems. Operates power or hand tools to complete specific repair jobs. May repair plumbing fixtures/supply and drain pipes. Designs and fabricates unique items for operational use. May assist in testing and inspecting building and/or plant systems, as assigned, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing to ensure proper working condition. Identifies if systems or items are in need of repair. Inspects, lubricates, adjusts, and calibrates worn or broken parts. Install electrical power distribution. Wires and maintains 110, 220, and 480 volt electrical systems. Participates in the planning of Plumbing layouts and electrical layouts and other building modifications by reading and interpreting Plumbing drawings and wiring diagrams. Maintains equipment service proficiency by studying respective technical manuals and attending in-house and vendor technical training classes. Knowledge of and demonstrated skill in practicing safety requirements and OSHA standards when working with hazardous energy, heavy loads, and when working overhead. Working knowledge of construction and building codes, technology, terminology, and standards. Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity. Demonstrated ability in reading and understanding blueprints, technical manuals, and precision measuring instruments. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English, as required, to communicate with customers and other employees and to complete work-related documentation. Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings and climbing hand over hand, lifting 50 lbs., and working on ladders/lifts up to 45 ft. Ability to work under pressure of deadlines and in hazardous situations. Ability to work in areas subjected to noise, heat, dust, or cold. Ability to work rotating shifts. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work under general supervision or instruction. Ability to resolve problems calling for technical analysis
