Must have experience with TCP/IP, Ethernet (IEEE 802.3), 10base2, 10baseT, or other similar protocols. Directly oversees configuration of wide area networks (WAN) required to interface with the event LAN and supporting simulations systems. Locates, identifies, and resolves causes for network failures, conducts pre-event testing and evaluation in order to optimize network performance. Must be capable of system administration in an HP/UNIX, Linux, Cisco, and NT/Win2000 computer operating, network environment. Shall be knowledgeable of distributed simulation protocols/communication technologies in support of remote operations conducted at various selected sites. Evaluates network and telecommunications hardware and software and makes recommendations to the government. Participates in the design and maintenance of telecommunications systems. Handles COMSEC keying material for encryption devices and keys those devices.MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS :Civilian Education. Bachelor''s degree is preferable; major in information technology or computer science or equivalent desired. Individual should possess a documented experience in Internetworking and experience with routing in a TCP/IP environment is required. Must also demonstrate capabilities in UNIX, Linux, Microsoft Operating Systems, and principles of database installation, configuration, and operation.Military/Government Experience. Minimum three years experience in DOD modeling and simulation, and computer network administration.Applicant selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to access classified information.
