JOB SUMMARY:

<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Working in a RD environment under general
supervision, with some detailed instructions and
intermittent review, and working in a loud work
environment. This position assists with building
and installs final assembly composite parts made
from epoxy resins, fiberglass and Kevlar fabrics,
structural adhesives, rivets, threaded and blind
fasteners using various hand tools. Cutting and
trimming of composite parts per close tolerances
for installation to fixtures, assemblies and
subassemblies. Drill, countersink, bond and rig
complex composite aircraft parts to form
assemblies, subassemblies and flight controls by
use of assembly fixtures and precision measuring
equipment. Install a variety of aircraft fasteners
to manufacturers specifications. Assembly of
aircraft components using various hand tools and
structural adhesives, rivets and threaded
fasteners. Works from and interprets engineering
drawing and diagrams that do not contain detailed
information of all operations. Reads blueprints,
diagrams, process sheets, and assembly and
schematic drawings. Sets up and operates equipment
to make test runs. Examines product for defects,
performing required tests, measurement of
performance, need for required adjustments and
verification of specified tolerances. Records
information on appropriate production records,
logs and other report forms. Follow planning and
accurately fill out and complete work orders with
assemblies. Assist in the development of shop aids
to facilitate fabrication, trimming and assembly
as required. The ability to communicate and work
closely with others in a team orientated work
environment. Responsible for observing all laws,
regulations and other applicable obligations
wherever and whenever business is conducted on
behalf of the company. Expected to work in a safe
manner in accordance with established operating
procedures and practices.
Requirements
Typically requires High School diploma or
equivalent and two or more years of related
experience. Must be able to read and comprehend
written and verbal instructions, detailed
blueprints and other similar authorized drawings
and documents, and capable of doing simple
mathematical calculations. Must be able to use
hand tools such as rollers, paper cutters,
scissors, x-acto knives, electric heat gun and
fixtures such as molds and mandrels. Ability to
use measuring instruments such as scales,
protractors and calipers. Must be able to become
certified to wear a respirator able to work in a
loud environment work extended hours as required
and be able to lift assemblies weighing up to 50
lbs.
Desirable Qualifications
Ability to plan work steps needed to complete
complex assemblies. Paint/bodywork experience is a
plus. Skilled with hand tools saws, grinders,
routers, drills. Prefer knowledge of computer
operations and applications.
