<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>id="tms_job_68">Mechanic ApprenticeDivision :NRC WestLocation :Alameda, CA, Alameda California US 94501Job Code :68Job Type :Full TimeCareer Level :Entry LevelEducation :High School or equivalentCategory :Installation/Maintenance/RepairJob Description :Primary PurposeTo be able to work and be on-call as needed for NRC 24-hours, 7 days per week on emergency response, land service and maritime contracts or projects.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure that all NRCES equipment remains in compliance of all D.O.T. regulations.Perform accurate inspections and maintenance repairs on all NRCES land based equipment.Provide neat and legible paperwork, to include D.O.T. maintenance documents, daily reports, vehicle inspection reports, etc.Ensure the inside and outside of the shop area remains clean and orderly.Assist all other NRCES mechanics in their daily duties, to include parts washing, vehicle inspections, equipment start up duties, and any other assigned tasks.Learn the proper operation and maintenance intervals of our land equipment to include vacuum pump units, hydraulic systems, blowers, gear trucks, tractors, misc. trailers, and all other land based equipment.Understand that you will assist with technician duties when the need arisesMust maintain a positive and motivated shop atmosphere.Prioritize equipment services and repairs in an efficient manner.Produce quality work, safely, in an acceptable time frame.Must be able to understand and comply with company safety standards.Ability to perform heavy lifting and carrying (up to 75 pounds); use of hand tools, power tools, bending, stooping, shoveling and other physically demanding tasks on a daily basis.Ability to perform work under sustained hours, uncomfortable weather conditions and rough terrain.Certified to operate a forklift, bobcat, blowers, diaphragm pumps, and man lift and boats.Ability to attach and operate equipment attachments for various vehicles (forklift, bobcat, etc).The ability to safely drive and perform safety checks on all vehicles for which licensed.Must be able to understand and comply with company and client safety standards.Familiar with all project related forms and documents as well as fully proficient in the layout and operation of Company equipment.Must be clean shaven at all times to allow for immediate donning of respirator.Performs other duties as assigned.Job Requirements :MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Requires High School or GED (or equivalent reading, writing and reasoning skills) 1-2 years of equipment mechanical experience and related education.. Qualified employees must posses or be able to complete the 40/80-hour HAZWOPER certification (depending on state), plus posses 8 hour haz wop refresher certificate, if due. Must have a valid Class “C” License w/haz endorsements (preferably Class “B”) with a clear DMV Record and ability to demonstrate competence level with both SCBA and air-line respirators. Must have completion of applicable training to operate assigned equipment including large centrifugal pumps, pressure washers (all types, including hydroblasters) and Bobcats (small equipment). Must have Marine oriented project experience or one or more specific labor trade task abilities, which greatly enhance job performance.
