JOB SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follow physicians directions, including
assisting the client with the administration of
medication and other treatment.
- Schedule annual medical and dental appointments
once a year or more frequently if prescribed on
the individual program plan.
- Implement approved emergency procedures in the
event of a fire, earthquake or other natural
disaster.
- Participate in the development of the Individual
Program Plan IPP.
- Provide training as outlined in the IPP.
- Provide transportation to medical dental
appointments, community outings as otherwise
outlined in the IPP- using company approved
vehicle this may include company vehicles and
employees vehicle.
- Maintain a record of medical and dental visits,
current weight, medication dosage, frequency and
times of administration, reasons for medications,
side effects, illnesses, injuries, special
incidents, funds and personal possessions.
- Enforce house rules.
- Purchase food and supplies as instructed and
prepare meals according to posted menus.
- Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment.
Communicate on a regular basis with Regional
Center, day programs and other services providers
and agencies, as needed.
- Report special incidents and suspected resident
abuse according to applicable laws and
regulations.
- Maintain a master calendar of appointments,
facility activities, meetings with Regional
Center, etc.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in
continuing education.
- Aide the Administrator in the management of all
direct support professional, and report directly
to the Administrator.
- Other duties as assigned by the Administrator
STATUS AND SCOPE
- Must completed 70 hour competency-based-training
DSP I DSP II course and test in accordance with
Title 17 Requirements Required for Specialized
Residential Homes
- Must be willing to work AM, PM and Noc shifts
- Must be CPR/FA and CPI certified
QUALIFICATIONS
- The House Manager shall have a minimum of one-
year full time prior experience providing direct
supervision and services to persons with
developmental disabilities.
- Complete the 70-hour competency-based-training
course and test in accordance with California Code
of Regulations CCR, Title 17 requirements.
- The House Manager shall have a high school
diploma.
- The House Manager shall be at least 23 years
old.
- The House Manager shall complete a minimum of 12
hours of continuing education within each twelve-
month period following the assumption of duties of
House Manager.
* For specialized residential homes, the House
Manager shall complete a minimum of 20 hours of
continuing education within each twelve-month
period.
- The House Manager shall have the ability to
communicate effectively in written and spoken
English.
- The House Manager shall have a valid certificate
of training in first aid, CPR, and CPI.
- The House Manager shall have a physical
examination with a negative T.B. test result,
including a statement that he or she is physically
qualified to perform his or her assigned duties.
This physical examination must be not more than 1
year prior to or seven days after employment with
Peoples Care.
- The House Manager shall have a criminal record
clearance and be associated to the facility.
Fingerprint clearance and a criminal record
statement is required prior to work.
- The House Manager shall be informed of the
requirement to report suspected physical abuse and
violations of individual client rights to the
proper authorities, to include community care
licensing.
- The House Manager shall complete a personnel
record, including a history of employment,
education and references.
- The House Manager shall possess a valid
California drivers license.
