academic proficiency among Farm Worker, Latino,
and other working families by providing
educational opportunities that have never been
within their reach.
JOB SUMMARY
We have immediate openings for tutors in Arvin,
Visalia, Parlier, Coalinga, Huron and Bakersfield,
CA. Students are tutored in small groups. We tutor
students in grades K-8th in English Language Arts
or Math. Bachelors degree is preferred, but we
will consider individuals with at least their AA
with tutoring experience.
Daily duties and responsibilities for this
position include, but are not limited to
Prepare lesson plans from textbooks,
software, curriculum and program training manuals
Provide tutorial and instructions in
Spanish and English, both written and orally
Maintain order and discipline in the
classroom
Coordinate flow of written and verbal
information between students home, school and
Cesar Chavez Foundations supplementary
educational service program.
Collect and maintain files as required by
the Act and District.
Abide by all District and Cesar Chavez
Foundations rules and regulations, including
student confidentiality.
Assist in the preparation of educational
curriculum.
Organize and maintain an information
system, correspondence and other documentary
records
Ensure that all instructional workspace is
organized and conducive to a learning
environment
Communicate with Cesar Chavez Foundations
Program Coordinator by email or phone the progress
of the student on daily bases.
QUALIFICATIONS
BA in Education or we welcome AA with
tutoring experience
Detail oriented, Organized, and Excellent
communication skills
Bilingual Preferred Spanish/English
Previous tutoring or teaching experience
helpful, but not required.
Knowledge of MS Office Word/Excel/Access
required
Fingerprint, background checks, and TB
test are required.
Candidate should be able to commit till
the group ends all their 30 hours.
Current school teachers or substitute
teachers are welcomed to apply.
