We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Land Specialist within our California Business Development group based in Bakersfield, California.The Land Specialist provides technical support for the California Business Development team and other Landmen through the timely and accurate set-up of land records and related contracts. Primary responsibilities for this position include:* Prepare, proof for accuracy and process various types of agreements for execution and distribution.* Prepare, maintain departmental data and conduct basic land/lease/contract research for Land staff using hard copy land system as well as computer based land data systems.* Assist in Title Due Diligence and follow-up title curative.* Conduct on line searches of County records and other systems to identify property owners.* Conduct land/lease/contract research using land files, public records, and computer based land data systems.* Assist Business Development staff in the acquisition of various properties, including oil & gas properties, leases, minerals, and surface interests.* Other related projects as assigned.* 3- 10 years land related work experience.* Working knowledge of oil and gas transaction documents, oil and gas leases, special provisions and contracts, title work, land maps, etc., with special attention to details both written and mathematical.* Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.* Excellent proofing, editing and correspondence skills with a strong attention to detail.* Ability and willingness to learn Land application systems (Quantum Land Services - QLS, Arc Map, GIS Mapping, Property Ownership and other technical systems).* Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).* Additional desired qualifications would be Paralegal Certificate or Associate Degree in Business or Petroleum Land Technology.* Notary Public of the State of California is a plus.* Knowledge of Regulatory entities for the state of California is a plus.
