JOB SUMMARY:

<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Provides mechanical engineering services for oil and gas industry projects excluding drilling and exploration projects. Responsible for design, construction, commissioning and start-up of infrastructure facilities including flow stations, water injection units, gas and oil lines, on-shore and off-shore, in accordance with international codes and standards and client specifications, such as pipe-sizing, wall thickness calculation, pump sizing and selection. Performs Pressure Vessels calculations per ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII Division 1 using Design Calcs Software. Performs Pipe Stress Analysis using Caesar software. Applies API Standard 650, 12D, 12F and 12B for design and construction of welded and bolted tanks for oil storage. Develops designs Basic Memorandums DBMs, Process Flow Diagrams PFDs, Material and Energy Balance, Process and Instrumentation Diagram PID, Plot Plans. Develops process simulation with appropriate tools such as Pro/II and Pipephase. Rates/sizes selects process equipment for the oil and gas industry, e.g. pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, compressors pressure vessels. Develops specifications and data sheets including but not limited to compressors, pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, valves, tanks, gas and oil lines, and skid packages, according to appropriate industry codes, such as API, ASTM, ASME, ANSI.
Performs stress analysis of lines interconnecting various equipment to calculate effects of changes of temperature and weight and define measures to avoid equipment damage. Applies quality assurance tests to piping plans, transposition drawings, isometrics drawing equipment specifications and data sheets ompressors, Tanks, Heat Exchanger, Vessel, Flare, Pumps. Selects piping materials and coating required based on characteristics of the fluids to be transported. Participates in process hazards analysis and other safety evaluations. Develops technical and economical evaluations for new projects. Develops technical evaluations for optimization cases. Provides technical advice and resolves mechanical problems. Provides technical answers internally and by client visits or phone calls when needed. Schedules work to meet the parameters of the project. Requisitions all required resources i.e., supplies, equipment to meet project needs. Plans all projects to meet or beat schedule without sacrificing quality or safety. Provides mentoring and engineering/technical advice to junior engineering staff members and design/drafting staff. Adheres to industry codes and standards and government regulations related to assigned project team work.
