1.Under the supervision of the HCM/CMO the Occupational Therapist assigned to the Correctional Treatment Center CTC is responsible for developing and implementing specialized recreation therapy services for inmates. Such therapeutic interventions are designed to promote social interaction, encourage profitable and appropriate use of leisure time and provide preparation for re-entry into general population or other levels of treatment. Participation in Interdisciplinary Treatment Teams IDTT and coordination of services with primary clinicians, correctional counselors and other custody personnel.
2.Evaluate recreation therapy needs for inmate patients with particular attention to activities of daily living, communication skills, physical exercise, and coping strategies.
3.Develop individual treatment plans.
4.Leads, instructs, monitors and encourages inmate patients in the program of individual and group activities of a physical, social and cultural nature to promote recovery and wellness.
5.Reassessment of inmate patient when significant change occurs.
6.Consult with clinical and custody staff.
7.Plan treatment goals providing specialized programs and services for specific inmates which promote mental, and physical well-being, encourage and promote social interaction, and encourage the development of optimal levels of functioning using recognized therapeutic techniques in working toward these goal with groups and individuals.
