More information is available atwww.nrgenergy.comor Like Us onFacebookand Follow us onTwitter.Purpose:Provide electrical/electronic maintenance support to maintain equipment at multiple solar generating sites.Responsibilities:* Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public.* Knowledgeable of environmental rules and regulations, and effectively apply them to all work situations.* Reads and interprets instruction manuals, blueprints and control system drawings; applies knowledge to daily tasks.* Completes written and electronic records (i.e. work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed.* Repair, test, troubleshoot, inspect; and install, remove and maintain solar site equipment such as solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment.* Diagnoses and corrects electrical/electronic equipment troubles and repairs or recommends major repairs.* Supervise vendors and contractors.* Supervise and train apprentice electricians/coworkers to teach proper, safe use of tools and maintenance procedures.* Employee must arrange own transportation to work location.Position RequirementsEducation:* High School diploma, GED or equivalent knowledge of English, mathematics and grammar.Certification/Experience:* Licensed electrician in the state of California and other applicable jurisdictions as required.* Five years of industrial electric/electronic maintenance experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation and/or maintenance of related electrical/electronic equipment including inspection and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:* Solar PV experience a plus.* Knowledge of electricity, voltage and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits.* Knowledge of electrical maintenance requirements used to establish and maintain scheduled electrical maintenance program for solar equipment.* Ability to discern assorted colors.* Knowledgeable of industrial electrical systems and able to safely and correctly perform electrical switching to clear circuits for equipment maintenance.* Ability to produce high quality work with a minimum of supervision or direction.* Ability to follow, interpret and act on written and verbal job instructions, and reports, technical manuals, and data.* Ability to operate Company vehicles and site equipment and maintain operating licenses and certifications.* Basic mechanical aptitude.* Ability to use basic mathematics including algebra & geometry to take measurements and perform computations required for installation and calibration of equipment.* Ability to maintain solar site in a safe manner.* Ability to use hand and power tools.* Ability to Lock Out/Tag Out equipment per NRG’s Lock Out/Tag Out procedure.* Ability to inspect, repair, and maintain electrical and/or electromechanical operating and control systems, equipment and fixtures, including instrumentation.* Ability to inspect, repair, and maintain wiring, electric meters, electrical/electronic control equipment, outlets and panels.* Ability to clean, test and install batteries.* Ability to perform electrica
