And Providence Saint Joseph''s Bariatric Program, a leader and resource for those dealing with obesity in Southern California, received a Five-Star Rating for Bariatric Surgery, and Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence designation from HealthGrades.We are seeking a Clinical Practice CoordinatorIn this position you will:Leadership1.   The CPC participates at a management level rather than a staff level in planning and implementing clinical decisions, works as a partner to a nurse manager/director, leads and chairs clinical committees.2.   Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed. Consultation1.   The CPC is both an internal and external consultant to all nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals in the hospital. External consultation is done between other hospitals and outside patients who seek neuro information and guidance. (1)2.   Consults with individuals and multi-disciplinary groups on health care issues, demonstrating effective use of change and systems theory in the process. (1,2,4)Education1.   The CPC provides education to patients, nurses, coaching physicians, and all allied health professionals (PT, OT, Speech, psychologists, etc.) in provision of workshops and seminars. (1)2.   The education provided by the CPC is specific to the area of expertise rather than general education which is done by an educator. (1)Research1.   The CPC conducts nursing research which involves the nurses caring for the patient in a specific environment. (1)2.   Models excellence in nursing practice through the utilization of advanced concepts in the areas of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of perceived, actual, or potential problems that occur in a variety of patient populations. (1)3.   Serves as a resource person and a role model on the latest evidence supporting cost-effective, safe nursing practice. (1)4.   Utilizes nursing theory and current research to support and improve health care practice. Conveys nursing theories and research findings to staff.
