Procurement Specialist
Job Duties
Manage relationships with suppliers and program procurement requirements.
Lead efforts to establish cost effective, long term relationships with key suppliers, and negotiate long term agreements.
Provide feedback to product lines with regard to long term contracts, strategic supplier alliances, market trends and improved design requirements.
Utilize objective supplier performance data to drive continuous improvement in supplier base performance and purchased material lead times.
Develop and negotiate blanket purchase orders to support product line production plans as well as site goals for reductions in acquisition lead time, raw material inventory and cost.
Function as a team tool champion in lean material techniques such as Kanban management and pull systems.
Function as commodity expert, while providing prompt resolution of commodity issues raised from Buyer/Planners, product lines, and manufacturing support shops.
Review and maintain pricing data utilizing SAT and oracle.
Maintain and monitor supply chain management metrics.
Develop and maintain supply chain management tools such as E-sourcing Ariba, iSupplier, Business Assessment / Risk Assessment, Supplier development, and Oracle tools MRP Analysis, PO / BPO creation, Sourcing rules, etc.
Champion supplier requirements and capabilities, and communicate/coordinate NPI initiatives, execute Supplier Transition Projects, support Strategic Supplier Consolidation Initiatives.
Actively participate in integrated product development teams and in analysis of product line cost reduction efforts related to purchased parts.
Minimum Requirements
Experience
Supply Chain Management/Business Admin Degree or equivalent BA degree preferred.
CPM/APICS certification a plus.
Five to Ten 5-10 years in procurement, subcontracts management or other supply chain role.
Technical commodity expertise, and demonstrated ability to develop, negotiate and administer long term contracts.
Good understanding of ERP systems and excellent Excel spreadsheet skills.
Solid understanding of material planning and scheduling methods with broad knowledge of industry practices and innovations relative to delivery performance and lead-time reduction.
Understanding of aerospace quality specifications and comparisons.
Experience with Government flow down requirements FAR, DFAR, export compliance policy ITAR, and the ability to understand complex customer flow down requirements.
A customer-oriented focus with a creative, aggressive and winning attitude.
LCC and Lean Manufacturing experience, with excellent analytical skills and strong project management skills.
Eligibility Requirement Must be a US Person under ITAR rules to be eligible.
