Educate the sales force and customers on product line or industry and resolves issues.Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities* Makes sales calls with sales representatives, contacting customers and making sales presentations. Teams with National Sales Managers on presentations and proposals for large customers.* Trains sales associates on all aspects for assigned HDS product category or industry; focusing on product knowledge and sales techniques.* Develops and implements plans to expand business presence. Shares market and competitor information with all applicable channels within the organization; establishes relationships and working partnerships.* Resolves issues for customers and sales representatives in assigned region.* Attends trade shows and promote assigned product line or industry. Attends the monthly business meetings for all company sponsored associations.  Nature and Scope* Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.* Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to results expected. Determines and develops approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.* May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.Work Environment* Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).* Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.* Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.Essential SkillsMinimum Qualifications* Must be eighteen years of age* Must pass the Drug Test* Must pass the Background Check* Must pass pre-employment tests if applicableEducation and Experience* Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas.Preferred Qualifications* Experience with specific HDS product category or emerging industry background.* Experience with waterproofing/erosion control products is strongly preferred.
