<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Estimator IIRequisition # 73251Select Location CA225 CA Modesto 4212 Bangs AveFunctional Area SalesLine of Business WaterworksJob Type Full-TimeMinimum Travel Percentage NoneRelocation Provided NoJob DescriptionJob SummarySupport the sales effort by handling take-offs from plans and drawings, including sophisticated plant plans.Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities* Responsible for the production and accuracy of material take-offs and developing quotations in support of sales efforts.* Facilitate the entry of bids/quotations into system.* Research Dodge, CMD, or any other construction plans for sales opportunities.* Develop relationships with engineers to discuss plans and specifications.* Develop vendor relationships to assist in specifications and pricing.* Maintain Bid Tracking system.* Provide pricing profile adjustment recommendations.Nature and Scope* Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.* Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor and/or direct "customers" of the process.* May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel or professional personnel.Work Environment* Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8 - 20 pounds).* Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.* Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.Essential SkillsMinimum Qualifications* Must be eighteen years of age* Must pass the Drug Test* Must pass the Background Check* Must pass pre-employment tests if applicableEducation and Experience* Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas.Preferred Qualifications* Formal training in estimating and reading plans preferred.* This position must have a minumu of 5 years experience in the Underground Construction industry and be familiar with the No. Cal. specifications and construction requirements. Be able to read plans and understand all types of pipeline take-off''s and light mechanical.
