Duties include receiving payment and posting amount to customer''s account; keeping records of collection and status accounts.Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities* Performs a wide variety of credit and collection functions for larger or more complex accounts.* Ensures compliance with established guidelines, guidelines reviews and monitors credit sources, credit files, customer applications and delinquent accounts.* Compiles and maintains basic credit information.* Maintains records on credit risks, delinquent accounts and incomplete files.  Nature and Scope* May modify processes to resolve situations.* Under limited supervision, relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine best approach to achieve desired outcomes. Course of action is often determined by interpreting procedures and policies. Work typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor or direct "customers" of the process* Is sought out and/or assigned to provide general guidance/direction, training, and technical assistance to junior level support personnel. Contributes to employees professional development but does not have hiring/firing authority.Work Environment* Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).* Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.* Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.Essential SkillsMinimum Qualifications* Must be eighteen years of age* Must pass the Drug Test* Must pass the Background Check* Must pass pre-employment tests if applicableEducation and Experience* Technical certification or Associates degree may be required in some areas. Generally 5 to 7 years of experience in related area of responsibility.Preferred Qualifications* Supervisory experience preferred.* Bachelors Degree in Finance, accounting or related field desired but not required. Minimum 2 years credit and collection expereince. Profiency in Microsoft Applications sucha s Word and Excel a must. Must be effective communicator (verbal and written) with exceptional phone skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of contruction laws as they pertain to liens, bonds, litigation and bankruptcy is desired but not required.
