<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Associate Director/Manager, Statistical ProgrammingTracking Code214993-957Job DescriptionManages the day-to-day activities of the Clinical Programming department, responsible for providing computer programming in support of clinical studies. This includes overall safety analysis, and the support of Statisticians and Data Management staff as needed.  Works closely with data management and analysis staff as well as the study sponsor.Essential Duties and Responsibilities* Conducts analyses, edit check programming and generation of derived datasets for assigned projects.   * Ensures the consistent use of standard safety data analysis.  Ensures project safety analysis is consistent with sponsor specifications.   * Interacts with central laboratories to ensure accurate and complete transmission of laboratory data.   * Responds to requests or needs of the sponsor during the course of the study.  * Develops and maintains training materials for all aspects of programming.    * Ensures consistency of programming for all departments that are performing SAS programming.   * Ensures the accuracy and completeness of programming, and that standard operating procedures are followed.   * Suggests and implements improvements and strategies for enhancing company operations.   * Evaluates programming software and provides input on selection.   * Contributes to the development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines and departmental policies.   * Management responsibilities require one to hire and assimilate employees; to provide on-going feedback and development; to document and deliver annual performance reviews; to coach, counsel and make determination of involuntary separation of employees as appropriate.   * May perform other duties as assigned.   * Performs all duties in accordance with Synteract SOPs, government regulations and Good Clinical Practice.Required Skills* Advanced knowledge of SAS, SPSS, or other statistical software.   * Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.  * Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, control and deliver.   * Able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community; to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format; to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.    * Able to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations; to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.   * Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.   * Must possess a professional demeanor, be able to manage conflicting priorities, delegate effectively, and communicate effectively.Required ExperienceMaster''s degree (M.S.) or equivalent in mathematics, statistics or related field of study and a minimum of 10 years related experience to include a minimum of 4 years management experience, or equivalent combination.Job LocationCarlsbad, CA, US.Position TypeFull-Time/Regular
