(NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Business Sourcing Analyst at its Carlsbad, CA facility.This position is primarily responsible for supply management activities within the Advanced Materials and Delivery Systems (AMDS). As such, the incumbent is responsible for identifying, developing, negotiating, and maintaining supply opportunities with a key focus on productivity and security of supply. The incumbent is also responsible for driving strategies for Tier 2 and Tier 3 materials and supporting sourcing teams in executing related strategies within AMDS.This position will be based in Carlsbad, CA and will require a close working relationship with many groups inside of AMDS and those that functionally support such as AMDS Market Managers, Strategic Collaborations, Customer Applications Support, Technology, EH&S, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, and Global Operations. This position will also support the supplier management and tactical aspects of Tier 2 and Tier 3 materials within AMDS. Key aspects of the position are: management of total spend within category and the execution of strategies developed jointly with the Sourcing team. Ideally, the incumbent should have a technical educational background, at least 5 years of working experience in a commercial or sales role (preferred), business development and/or similar commercial roles dealing with complex negotiations. Experience in, understanding of, and knowledge of the gases and chemical industries is a plus.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
