ViaSat is looking for an exceptional Cost Accountant Lead to step in and bring your “A” game to this position and make it your own.The Cost Accountant will lead cost and inventory and associated accounting activities in a fast paced, high tech company. You will assist in the review and approvals of journal and reconciliations. You will leverage your analytical and computer skills to develop complex ad-hoc analysis using sophisticated query tools. You will assist in capturing manufacturing valuations and variances as well as developing and analyzing costs, inventory and reserves. You will perform month end close, prepare journal entries and reconciliations as well as assist in the reporting and budgeting process. Because you are a key member of the financial management team, you will communicate across all levels of the operations and finance organization and help with special projects.Experience/Skills Required-10+ Years related experience in cost accounting with progressive responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.-Supervisory experience-Solid understanding of GAAP, financial statements and accounting theory-Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues.-Project accounting, average costing and warranty experience is a plus.-Strong knowledge of Excel, Word with various query and data analysis tools.-ERP system experience (Oracle preferred).-Self-directed with outstanding communication skills working in team environment-U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status-Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Accounting preferred).Our corporate headquarters in Carlsbad is just a hop and skip away from the beautiful Pacific Coast.
