<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Senior Global Health & Safety Specialist IIPurpose of the position:The incumbent will support the implementation, development, and advancement of the Life Technology global health & safety program. This position supports the global EHS objectives of:* Achieving a workplace free of work related injuries and illnesses;* Ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local Occupational Health and Safety regulations;* Implementing and maintaining EHS Management systems that facilitate achievement of OSHA VPP, ISO, or other applicable recognition systems;* Improving employee productivity and morale by preventing health–related work absences.Key Roles and Responsibilities:Occupational Health and Safety Program:Act as a resource to Life Technologies site EHS programs in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the global health and safety program.Provide assistance to sites in the implementation of EHS programs and policies.Anticipate, communicate, and assist in the resolution of occupational health and safety risks to employees, property, and interests of Life Technologies.Health & Safety Communications: Coordinate the schedules and content of Safety participation in operational update and development events and meetings. This includes the development of approved formatted template and delivery of Safety Alerts, Safety Champion promotions, and the Safety Handbook.The incumbent will also coordinate the rotational schedules for EHS team member participation in operations meetings such as the “Operations Daily Huddle”.Health & Safety Program Implementation: Participate in the implementation and evaluation of the global health & safety strategy, working with sites, global EHS and global HR. Participate in HR, EHS, and Workers'' Compensation teams.Specific Program Responsibilities:The incumbent will provide support and execution tools (including training) for the Global Hazard Communication (GHS) Program, Ergonomics Program, and other EHS programs, as directed.The incumbent will also provide support in the use of the EHS data management system.Under guidance and direction by the Global Health and Safety Manager, other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* Develop, implement and monitor global Material Handling programs to reduce risks to employees;* Assist in the identification and implementation of risk reduction strategies from site Job Hazard Analysis Monitor closure of action items;* Support the implementation of bio-safety, radiation safety, and laser safety programs throughout the organization.* Standardize / Harmonize Industrial Hygiene activity at all sites globally as applicable.* Establish guidelines for a global Medical Surveillance Program. Manage the medical surveillance program.* Assist sites in the standardization and deployment of site medical supplies including first aid kits, AEDs, and specialized emergency response tools.* Act as a member of the global auditing team, as directed.* Establish guidelines for the First Aid Team. Provide or make arrangements for First Aid, CPR and AED training* Provide guidance and training on advanced Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis. Ensure injury and illness cases are effectively managed to closure.* Assist in the collection, analysis, and communication of EHS Key Performance Indicators.Education and experience requirements:Bachelor of Science degree in Science related field.Preference is given to a degree in Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, or other Health & Safety science.Five (5) years experience in the Health and Safety fieldTravel requirement (30%)Desired Profile:Strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to influence others without authority;Customer focused:Establishes and maintains strong relationships with internal and external customers and gains their trust and respect.Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment and manage multiple priorities.Motivated and capable of independent work.Can
