<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Life Technologies has an immediate need for a Financial Analyst to be a key team member of the Corporate FP&A team.Position Objective:The Financial Analyst will assist in the budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis of operating expenses for several groups/areas within the corporate functions. Establishing strong partnerships with business leaders in the respective functions is critical. Well-built analysis and clear communication with senior finance leadership is needed. This analyst will partner with other senior members of the Corporate FP&A team and will perform ad hoc analysis as required to support the Corporate FP&A group, VP-FP&A and CFO.Essential Functions:Assist in the monthly forecasting, monthly reporting and annual operating plan of operating expenses for a portion of the corporate functions, which includes creating detailed templates and having ongoing communication with cost center owners for any questions regarding budgets, actual expenses, and spending targets.Lead regular meetings with corporate function leaders to review spending trends, and ensure that plans are in place to achieve expense targets. Present monthly analysis of operating expenses to key functional leaders.Take lead and use financial systems (e.g., Cognos/Hyperion) to help streamline operating expense reporting and continually improve existing suite of weekly and monthly operating expense reports.Will be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.Education:Requires a bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. MBA or equivalent graduate degree preferred. CPA or accounting experience a plus.Experience/Requirements:Requires two to five years of relevant experience in Finance, preferably for an international, publically traded company. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Strong MS excel, and overall systems skills required. Experience with Hyperion Planning, Cognos, E1, and SAP a plus.
