<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Life Technologies has an immediate need for a Financial Analyst to be a key team member of the Global Services FP&A team. This position is based in Carlsbad, CA and will provide direct support to the Senior Finance Manager.Position ObjectiveThe Financial Analyst will be responsible for planning, analyzing, forecasting and budgeting activities in support of the Global Services organization&#x2019;s goals and objectives. It is a role that requires a self-starter with strong analytical and problem solving capabilities. Establishing strong partnerships with business leaders in the respective functions is critical. Well-built analysis and clear communication with senior finance leadership is needed.Essential Functions&middot;Assist in the monthly forecasting, monthly reporting and annual operating plan for a portion of the Global Services Division, which includes creating detailed templates and having ongoing communication with leaders for any questions regarding budgets, forecast, actual results and targets.&middot;Lead regular meetings with leaders to review revenue and spending trends, and ensure that plans are in place to achieve forecasts and targets. Present monthly reporting package to key functional leaders.&middot;Assist in the analyzing of financial data, defining relevant information and interpreting the results for the purpose of determining past financial performance and potential risks and opportunities for the future performance.&middot;Develop various financial reports for forecasting, trending, budgeting and results analysis;&middot;Utilize various financial systems (Hyperion, Enterprise1, SAP, etc) to extract financial data for analysis and identify efficiencies in financial analysis;&middot;Demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy in working with and holding accountable internal customers within a matrix organization.&middot;Interface effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment with all levels of the organization.&middot;Possess initiative, enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity, a positive attitude and ability to perform as a team player. Possess problem solving skills and be results oriented.&middot;Participate and provide required leadership in facilitating various teams&#x2019; initiatives and projects.&middot;Will be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.Education:Requires a bachelor&#x2019;s degree in Finance or Accounting. MBA or equivalent graduate degree preferred. CPA or accounting experience a plus.Experience & Requirements:Requires a minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and managing costs in a matrixed organization. High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Hyperion is a must. Experience in Enterprise 1 and SAP is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills required and ability to work and interact with senior level business partners/customers. Experience supporting a business unit a plus.Some travel may be required.This position is not eligible for relocation benefits.
