Keep reading!You will use your network engineering expertise to specify, design, implement, document, test, troubleshoot and deploy network and cyber security solutions; drive cyber security compliance to government and commercial requirements; diagnose and resolve complex live network problems, provide critical network architecture support, and maintain a variety of network communication protocols. Because networking is your passion, networking system commands in several platforms like Cisco, Juniper, and Linux are second nature, which allows you to easily help others in resolving operating system and networking issues. You will be directly involved in a diverse number of SATCOM communications programs and projects for US DoD customers as well as commercial applications. This fast-paced multi-tasking environment requires you to interact with a broad spectrum of program managers and hardware/software/project engineers on a regular basis. You may occasionally travel to participate in field work at customer sites internationally and domestically.Experience/Skills Required:• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or MIS• 2+ years working within Information Technology.• 1+ years’ experience with Switches/Routers/ASA Firewalls• 1+ years’ experience with Linux based server administration• Proficiency in the troubleshooting and tuning of the component hardware, software, networking and communications protocol problems• Occasional Travel• US citizenshipPreferred:• 1+ years in Information Security or equivalent experience (DIACAP, FIPS, Common Criteria, NIST RMF) • Understanding of routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VRRP and network based ACL''s in addition to switching protocols such as 802.1D, 802.1Q, 802.1ad, QinQ, STP, MSTP• Demonstrable competency in protocol standards such as IPv4, IPv6, Mobile IP, 802.11b/g, GRE, ARP, and IPSEC• Competent with network Monitoring protocols and tools such as SNMP, RMON, Wireshark, WinPcap, Cacti, Nfdump, and Nfsen. as well as with network management protocols and tools such as SNMP, LDAP and AAA• Practical experience in deployment and management of applied IT security technologies and tools such as two-factor authentication, enterprise PKI, email encryption, network access control, intrusion detection/prevention systems, centralized endpoint protection, etc.• Experience with satellite communications systems/terminals, RED side network design and crypto• Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain one• Recognized industry or security (CISSP, GIAC, etc.) certifications, and/or continuing education programs• Exposure/Experience supporting STIG evaluations• Exposure/Experience with IA Vulnerability Management Processes• Exposure/Experience using vulnerability testing tools (Retina, Nessus, or equivalent)• CCNP/CCIE Certification or equivalent• Up to 25% domestic and international travel** ViaSat is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
